“Everything is perception and Everyone is Construction”, well this is the best thing I heard from Gone girl and It has been stuck in my head for years. I feel it quite interesting in observing people behaving under different circumstances ,how they try to portray themselves, their defense mechanism, vulnerable dimension and their reaction under different stimuli. OK don’t freak out, I don’t spy on people with binoculars and track their every single movement 
, but yes I have always wanted to keep simple record of how my mind perceived a person during early stage of knowing them and how it changed with time. Few weeks back I got to participate in ERYLA 2021 (a Rotaract Club event where we get to know a lot of new people stepping out of their comfort zone) and I thought that it was the best opportunity for me to track those records of Impression and perception from begining to the end as the program lasted for a week. So I did it and here is the record of the perception I had about people in the first and the after few weeks:
Had met her Previously in an event in pokhara,
First Impression : Looks like Old Nepali Actress Jal Shah. She may beat the hell out of you if you start any nonesense.
Impression After a Week : She still looks like that Actress but she’s not harsh as it seemed at first. Coming out strong is kind of her defence mechanism. And yes, she is also really helpful and professional.
First Impression : Kind of person who talks less with strangers but will have a close strong circle with chosen friends
Impression After a Week : Didn’t get to know alot but she knows how to balance the social life and personal life. Very Serious about the studies and career. Excellent sense in music and very talented.
First Impression : Has a very nice name, doesn’t know its meaning. Slightly introvert person good in fashion and arts. He might even Rap.
Impression After a week : He is really good in arts. Has ability of keeping things private and still balancing the social life. Won’t show you his talent and abilities unless you kidnap him and force him to do so!
haven’t got to know that much about him,but still my perception was something like:
First Impression : Loves to travel and explore,very practical in nature and just does the things he wants
After a week : Didn’t get to know much ,but seemed as if he just loves to take charge and lead
Forgot his real name, but none of our name is real right?
First impression : Might be a foreigner stuck in Nepal during lockdown .
After a week : A really innocent and creative boy following his passion in photography. Super talented in anything he touches.
First Impression: A sweet little kid good in leaf art. Spends most of her time either studying or worrying about studies.
After a week: She loves osho 🤣. She is bad at convincing people and it’s very easy to trigger her anger. All she needs is a one good friend and she can forget the world.
First Impression : A simple, Calm, and matured person who believes in the power and beauty of simplicity.
After a Week : A person learning to come out of the shell,opening up and really enjoying the process. Matured: yes but not dead serious about the life and loves having fun here and there! Loves reading literature.
First Impression :Looks very simple and sweet. Will help you whenever he gets the opportunity. Has a very positive mindset.
Impression After a Week : He’s still very sweet and simple. Has entrepreneurial mindset and has a vision for what he wants to do with his life. He’ll really be glad to help you out where he can. Loves to have fun.
First Impression: Just loves talking and laughing.
Impression After a Week : She has more than what she shows to the world. Good in Studies and public speaking. Is eagerly searching for a boyfriend .
First Impression: Very smart, Intelligent and sociable kid. Works smart rather than working hard.
Impression After a week : She’s got some seriously good social skills. Sincere in studies. Has ability to create a good bond with people. Loves to try new things. Wants to look “coolgirl” (and is to some extent). Has a very slow internet connection.
First Impression: A cool guy with very less ego
Impression After a week : A very cool guy with almost no ego. Loves drinking tea. Proud to be Jhapali.
First Impression: Intelligent and Hardworking medical student trying to have some fun amid study pressure
Impression After a week : Very good with words and flattery at times. Ability to make fun of people without letting them realize that. Probably knows black magic.
Turns out, She is my fupu by relation.
First Impression: Very well behaved and classy kid.
Impression After a week : Very well behaved and classy kid who thinks that she’s matured now!
Had already met him in an event before. He owes me aayo noon ko bag stuck in his scooter.
First Impression: Girls’ Magnet
Impression After a week: Girls’ Magnet but humble
Got to know him a bit late
First Impression: Medical student trying to enjoy life in between exam pressure and deadlines
Impression After a week : A humble guy interested in literature and movies. Has very little place for ego in life.
First Impression: Talkative Tik-Tok Queen.
Impression After a week : Is smarter than the person you think she is at first. Seems like someone trying to get life back on track and organized after some big storm .
I already knew him from college days. But still I was surprised to know alot about him.
First Impression: Mr Perfectionist. Wins Every sports and tasks given. Calculative.
Impression After a week : Mr Perfectionist with a good heart too. He has a very kind and sweet heart. Doesn’t make things unnecessarily complex and enjoys at the moment.
These were just some impression of people that developed in my mind over time. As people are ever changing and perception is never the reality, I can’t assure my assumptions to be true. In fact, people are ever changing and its almost impossible to say what they actually are. Nonetheless, it was fun keeping this account. It’ll be more interesting when I’ll look back at it as I connect to them more ! Also Feel free to write on how was your perception about me on first meet and after few weeks in comment section 🙂 .
